Fresh & cold milk
Milk should be as fresh and cold as possible (milk close to expiring will not froth well).
High protein
Protein content should be high as protein allows milk to froth. Shake the carton before attempting to froth to evenly distribute the proteins.
Stiff or silky foam?
Low fat milk creates dry, stiff foam and high fat milk creates wet, silky foam. Your choice.
Milk alternatives
Cow’s milk works best - conventional or organic. Alternative milks can be tried, but there is no guarantee that they will froth like cow’s milk.
