Third-party recipients using Personal Data for legal reasons or in the context of a merger/acquisition. We will disclose your Personal Data to third parties for legal reasons or in the context of an acquisition or merger (for details, see Section 4).
6. RETENTION OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
In accordance with applicable laws, we will use your Personal Data as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which your Personal Data was collected (as described in Section 4 above) or to comply with applicable legal requirements.
Personal Data used to provide a personalized experience (for more detailed information, see Section 4 above) will be retained as long as permitted by applicable laws.
7. DISCLOSURE, RETENTION, AND/OR TRANSFER OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We use various reasonable measures (described below) to ensure that your Personal Data remains confidential and secure. However, please note that this protection does not apply to information you choose to share in public areas, such as third-party social networks.
Persons who may access your Personal Data. Your Personal Data will be processed by our authorized personnel or agents, based on the need to know, depending on the specific purposes for which your Personal Data was collected (e.g., our customer care personnel will have access to your account records).
Measures adopted in work environments. We protect your Personal Data in work environments using reasonable security measures to prevent unauthorized access. We also adhere to reasonable standards regarding Personal Data protection. Transmission of information online is unfortunately not entirely secure, and while we will do our utmost to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee the security of data during transmission through our websites/applications.
Measures expected from you. It is essential that you also play a role in keeping your Personal Data safe. When registering for an online account, choose an account password that others will find difficult to guess and never reveal your password to anyone. You are responsible for keeping this password confidential and for any use of your account. If using a shared or public computer, never check the box to save your login ID/email address or password and always log out of your account when leaving the computer. It is also recommended to use all privacy settings or controls we provide on our website/application.
Transfer of your Personal Data. Storage and processing of your Personal Data, as described above, may require your Personal Data to be ultimately transferred and/or stored in a location outside your residence country, specifically in Switzerland and Luxembourg. We will also transfer your Personal Data to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA) (e.g., to other Nespresso/Nestlé units or ad-hoc partners in the country, including countries with data protection standards differing from those applied in the EEA). We (i) have implemented standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission to protect your Personal Data (and you have the right to request a copy of these clauses from us by contacting us as indicated below) and/or (ii) rely on your consent (where permitted by law).
8. ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL DATA
Access to Personal Data. Where required by law, you and your heirs, representatives, and/or proxies have the right to access, review, and request a physical or electronic copy of the information we hold about you. You also have the right to request information on the source of your Personal Data.
You can exercise these rights by sending an email to slo.dataprivacy@sf1coffee.com, calling us at 0800 080 1670, or writing to us at SF1 Coffee d.o.o., Ukmarjeva ulica 4, 1000 Ljubljana, including a copy of your identification document or relevant details (if requested by us and permitted by law). If the request is made by someone other than you without providing proof that it is made on your behalf, the request will be refused.
Please note that all identification information provided to us will be processed exclusively in accordance with applicable law and to the extent permitted by it.
Additional rights (e.g., amendment, deletion of Personal Data). Where provided by law, you and your heirs, representatives, and/or proxies may (i) request the deletion, transfer, correction, or review of your personal data, (ii) object to data processing, (iii) restrict the use and disclosure of your Personal Data, and (iv) withdraw consent for any of our data processing activities.
Note that under certain circumstances, we may not be able to delete your Personal Data without simultaneously deleting your user account. We may need to retain some of your Personal Data after you request deletion to fulfill our legal or contractual obligations. Additionally, we may be permitted under applicable law to retain some of your Personal Data to meet our business needs.
Where available, our websites include a dedicated feature allowing you to review and edit the Personal Data you provided. Be aware that we require our registered users to verify their identity (e.g., login ID/email address, password) before they can access or modify their account information. This helps prevent unauthorized access to your account.
We hope to address any concerns you may have about how we process your Personal Data. However, if you have unresolved concerns, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authorities.
9. YOUR CHOICES REGARDING THE USE AND DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We strive to provide choices regarding the Personal Data you provide to us. The following mechanisms allow you to control your Personal Data:
Cookies/similar technologies: Manage your consent using (i) our consent management solution or (ii) your browser to reject all or some cookies/similar technologies or to alert you when they are used. See Section 3 above for more details.

To disable marketing notifications sent by any medium, including third-party social networks, you can log into the website/application or third-party social networks and adjust your user preferences in your account by unchecking the relevant boxes or contacting our CRC. Note that even if you choose not to receive marketing communications, you will still receive administrative notifications from us, such as order confirmations and other transactional notices, account activity notifications (e.g., account creation confirmation, password changes), and other important notifications not related to marketing.
Personalization (online and offline): Where required by law, if you want Nespresso to use your Personal Data to provide personalized experiences/targeted advertising and content, you can indicate this in the relevant checkboxes on the registration form or in responses to questions asked by our demonstrators, CRC, or boutique representatives. Some of these ads are tailored to your interests based on information collected on Nespresso sites or unrelated websites over time. You can visit www.aboutads.info/choices to learn more about this type of advertising and how to opt out of interest-based advertising by companies participating in the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) self-regulatory program. Cookie policy
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites you visit leave on your computer. Cookies are mainly used to make websites function or to work more efficiently and to provide information to the website owners.
How and Why Do We Use Cookies?
We use cookies to improve the usability and functionality of our website and to better understand how visitors use our website and the tools and services provided on it. Cookies help us tailor the Nespresso website to your personal needs, enhance its user-friendliness, receive customer satisfaction feedback, and communicate with you on other parts of the web. The information provided by cookies on the website may also be used by third parties for functional or advertising purposes.
What Types of Cookies Do We Use?
On the Nespresso website, we may use the following types of cookies:
- Essential Cookies
These cookies are essential for providing basic website functionality and must be accepted for the website to work. Their use may include authentication, security, or localization purposes.
Example: We use cookies to store your language preferences and remember them on your next visit. Similarly, when you authenticate yourself, we use a temporary cookie to recognize you during your session and prevent others from impersonating you, even if your session was not properly ended.
- Session ID: Nespresso websites use specific cookies essential for proper functionality. One type creates a session ID for the user, allowing the system to recognize a unique user distinct from any other visitor. This information is not stored outside the Nespresso system; it is retained temporarily during access to account pages or other secure areas. Without this cookie, such access would not remain secure, making it essential.
- Functional Cookies
These cookies help us improve or optimize the experience we provide. They allow us to measure site usage and enhance performance.
Example:
We use Adobe Analytics to measure where visitors come from and their behavior on our website. These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our site, provide insights into visited sections, time spent, and any encountered issues. This information allows us to improve the user experience and performance of our website.
For more information, click on this link.
- Language: Used to customize the website's default language. Disabling this can cause inconvenience for users as they will be required to reset their preferred language repeatedly.
- Country: Used to suggest the most relevant experience based on the user's country of residence, especially for delivery options when purchasing Nespresso products.
- Promotion: Used to identify Nespresso Club Members eligible for promotions and to display information about relevant offers.
- Login: Used to provide Club Members with the option to remember their credentials, avoiding the need to re-enter their user ID and password each time they access the Nespresso Club section.
- Google Analytics: Google Analytics cookies provide insights into user behavior on the website. These cookies do not identify individuals but define sessions based on a combination of computer, user account, and browser. They do not collect personal data from visitors.
- Adobe Omniture: Used to provide anonymous/aggregate data about user navigation and activity on Nespresso websites.
- Via Michelin: Used to provide services tailored to users' geographical context, such as a Nespresso store locator.
- iPROM: A system that installs a browser identifier in a first-party cookie, with its value additionally stored in local storage. The identifier links website visitors to the advertiser's DMP platform, enabling tailored ads on digital media. This identifier is installed only with prior explicit consent on the advertiser's website. The user's identifier is anonymized and contains no personal data.
- iPROM: The system also installs a browser identifier in a first-party cookie for the duration of a session, storing its value in "session storage." The identifier links the visitor's session to the advertiser's DMP platform, enabling customized ads and goal tracking during the session. It is installed only with prior explicit consent and is anonymized, containing no personal data.
- Advertising Cookies
These cookies are used by advertising companies we collaborate with to display ads that are relevant to your interests as you browse the web. Thanks to these cookies, the ads are targeted, relevant to you and your interests, and limited in the number of displays. They also allow us to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns on the network.
We may share this information with other parties, including our agencies.
Example:
We use Google DoubleClick to understand how people interact with our digital advertising campaigns conducted on the Google advertising network.
For more information, click on this link.
- Google Doubleclick: These cookies are used to understand how people interact with our digital advertising campaigns. They help us understand and evaluate the number of clicks on our ads so we can improve the service we provide to you.
- Nespresso websites also use other tracking technologies, including IP addresses, log files, and web beacons, which also help us tailor the Nespresso websites to your personal needs.
- iPROM: The iPROM cookie operates by setting a cookie that displays customized ads on other online media after leaving the website. The system sets the cookie to the user profile (browser) with prior explicit consent obtained on the website. The user profile is anonymized and does not contain personal data.
- IP Addresses:
An IP address is a number that computers in a network use to identify your computer whenever you are online. We may store IP addresses for the following reasons:
(i) troubleshooting, (ii) maintaining website security, (iii) better understanding how our websites are used, (iv) better tailoring content according to your needs, depending on the country you are in.
- Log Files:
We (or a third party on our behalf) may collect information in the form of log files that record activities on the website and collect statistical data about users' browsing habits. These entries are created anonymously and help us (among other things) gather information about (i) the user's browser type and operating system, (ii) the user's session (such as the URL from which they arrived, the date and time of their visit to our website, which pages were viewed on our website, and for how long), and (iii) other similar navigation or network usage data.
- Web Beacons:
We may use web beacons (or "clear GIFs") on Nespresso websites. Web beacons are small lines of code that deliver a graphic image on a webpage or in an email message for the purpose of transferring data back to us. Information collected through web beacons may include how users respond to an email campaign (e.g., when an email is opened, which links in the email are clicked, etc.). We use information from web beacons for various purposes, including reporting website traffic, the number of unique visitors, advertising, auditing and reporting on email campaigns, and personalization.
Manage Your Cookies/Preferences
Nespresso partners with TRUSTe to enable users to set their own cookie preferences. TRUSTe is a global leader in data privacy management, helping companies to securely collect and use customer data in a compliant and transparent way.
Users can access and change their cookie preferences at any time by clicking on the "Cookie Preferences" link on our website. A cookie management tool, operated by TRUSTe, will load and provide information about the types of cookies used on our website and allow users to opt-out of advertising and functional cookies to ensure compliance with international laws and regulations.
After users select the types of cookies they wish to opt out of and submit their preferences, the TRUSTe cookie management tool will ping all available opt-outs for cookies found on the Nespresso website. This cookie list is updated quarterly to maintain a comprehensive list of advertising and functional cookies.
